Grandfather Mtn Reflected 2 by rdswords Grandfather Mtn Reflected 2 by rdswords
A B&W version of my Grandfather Mountain shot.

I'm hoping to be able to go back and tackle this composition again with my new camera equipment in the near future.

Thought that looked familiar!!! Grew up spending summers in NC - Sliding Rock, Bernard, Asheville...
Love the B/W! :headbang:

Thanks! I actually tried to revisit this exact spot recently and redo the photograph with my 4x5 camera, but it was too big to actually fit down in the spot where I originally rested my Canon 30D! I was pretty bummed about that, but I do have a bunch of new mountain photos on the way from my recent trip back to the NC mountains.

Thanks. I love this composition personally, but I am really disappointed with my execution. It was taken on a casual vacation outing, and all I had was my camera with the lens on it (no tripod or anything). I did my best to handhold and compose with the camera held against the rock. This composition has become one of my personal missions. I want to get back to that exact spot in the near future and do this shot properly (on a soon to be acquired 4x5 camera).
